I thought about choosing several others for my first 'exposure' series, but I kept coming back to poor 'ol martin. Why? Well, I'm hoping the poor soul will eventually come to grips with his own reality. This is a guy that tries to come across as a 'god fearin', gun carrying' type, yet relies on all of his facts and figures from the Fox News Channel.
If you missed anything from Glen Beck? Hannity? Hang on long enough because martin will tell you what one of the talking heads said. Don't mind that the guy can't think on his own.
As fragile as he seems in his thoughts to the extreme right, he follows it up with PM's that have led this one time moderator to wonder if he would actually have one of those manifestos locked up in his attic. I had numerous posters (including the current moderator) telling me he sent email threats their way. Funny how they are chums now. Well, at least until the current moderator whines and begs to have him removed.
My favorite posts though from martin is his claim that Jim Leyland was tackled at Wrigley by the Secret Service when Reagan was president. He said it was announced on radio, swore by it, and argued with fellow posters for years. Of course, no evidence was provided, though 'challenged' those to email members of the broadcast crew and ask on his behalf.
God Bless You though martin. Stay south and stay strong.

ReplyDeleteOh my, who could forget martin? PM's involving threats of 357 Magnum's, hilarious memoirs featuring martin as a young grade school yard boy who was just too smart for his own good to require a formal education, sleeping with a 357 Magnum under a pillow at a local Motel 6 during a family vacation, irrational thoughts on evolution theories versus religion, to everything else including Jim Leyland gang tackled at Wrigley to the lack of 'any involvement' of the Nutting family with the Pirates at any point during the McClatchy era - we've seen and heard it all. I believe we are all still waiting for martin's wild, yet bold, prediction the Nutting family will be the 'toast of the town' in the same breath as the Rooney family and the Steelers.
ReplyDeleteThe 'toast of the town' was was a classic! I wanted to find and post that one but couldn't find it.
